#TITAF PROJECT 01

ACQUISITION OF COLLECTIONS

Find out about the project you can support.

Acquisition of Collections

Shellac collections for music transfer are purchased in large collections from collectors worldwide, but mainly in Buenos Aires. Crucial in these purchases is being informed about their existence, getting into good personal contact and agree on a price that is valuable for both the buyer and the seller. And not to the least: Time, before collections get lost.

We are aware of two large collections in the Gran Buenos Aires are. We are already in contact with the owners.

The total amount of shellacs sums up to 120.000 in both collections combined. Collections of this size are usually acquired in bulk, including all tango shellacs, also some jazz, classic, and other genres from the period between 1930 and 1950 period.

Parts of theses collections will go to the new transfer station in the US. This will make up for enough material to transfer for some years!

Transporting shellacs is a delicate matter, so there will be a special transport needed.

We are particularly looking for a sponsor who cannot only give financial support but technical support, too.

We are aiming for a negotiation sum of 1 US Dollar per shellac.

Budget planning

Budget planning:

USD 120,000 – negotation sum for two large collections at 1US-$ per shellac

USD 10,000 – transport costs

Total budget goal/budget needed for this project:

USD 130,000.00

Budget already donated

USD 0.00

Start of project: March 2020

End goal: End of 2020

Every shellac deserves a good transfer.
